The excavations of the SAIA-University of Macerata, with the support of the ephorate of Heraklion, were completed in September 2018.

The archaeological mission of the University of Macerata, conducted by Prof. R. Perna, has completed the investigation of the South Building, a public monument built in the 4th century AD on a previous Roman structure, and which underwent some functional transformations in the seventh century.

At the Southern Complex, a monastery was excavated with a small one-nave church and part of the service areas around a courtyard.

The building, probably built in the fifth century AD, underwent some modifications and remained in use until the eighth century.
