According to the museum staff, the jar was in a good state of preservation and is believed to be between 650 to 900 years old.
Inside the jar were the remains of small child between 5 and 11 years of age at the time of burial. The body was placed in the foetal position or seated in the jar.
Next to the jar the archaeologists found a nativity cup and a small bowl (puco), presumably left as 'gifts' for the infant.
The finds were taken to the museum for further analysis.
